NOTEGA - Working to End Guardianship Abuse

Local attorney Michael J. Brown is back in jail after failing to satisfy a contempt order in Hinds County Chancery Court.

Judge Dewayne Thomas today ordered Brown to be held again following a four-hour hearing.

Thomas has found that Brown misappropriated at least $1.2 million in a guardianship case involving the grandson of the late civil rights leader Aaron Henry. Of that amount, Thomas said Brown appears to have embezzled at least $240,000.
